BioHance Plus
Activated sludge process enhancement system.

BioHance Plus is an easily dosed suspension of inorganic salts, micronutrients, pH buffers and calcified seaweed. It has been designed and formulated to be extremely effective when used in biological wastewater treatment facilities.

Settlement

The above graph details results from a 740-ppm inoculum dose of BioHance Plus in a 1350m3 aeration basin. The enhanced settlement was measured within 30 minutes of dosing.

Enhanced nitrification process
Provides the essential components for nitrosomonas and nitrobacter to function effectively in the conversion of ammonia to nitrite and subsequent conversion to nitrate. The carbon source in this process has to come from carbonate alkalinity. The process requires 7.14 parts carbonate alkalinity to one part ammonia. BioHance Plus is capable of supplying and sustaining this alkalinity requirement.

Healthy Biomass Growth
Floc forming (good) bacteria will predominate in a biological system provided the system is kept in balance with correct F/M ratio, nutrients (N and P), micronutrients, pH, alkalinity, and temperature amongst other factors. If the system is allowed to operate outside of the required balanced parameters then poor results will be achieved in terms of treatment efficiency and this will manifest itself in terms of poor settling, poor ammonia reduction, rising sludge in clarifiers, bulking caused by filamentous bacteria and a more difficult dewatering step.
